Membership Information


Fee Structure

The amount of the annual membership fee is dependent upon the membership category under which the applicant applies.  Categories and associated fees are listed below.  The activation  period for all memberships is April 1 to March 30.  Fees will not be pro-rated.  

Membership Categories and Related Fees
Listed Below are the varying levels of membership with the NLACP.  Please note that all applications are screened on an individual basis.  For more information on how to become a member, please view the "Become a Member" section of this website.

Practitioner Member (Annual Fee $75)
Members are defined as those who are actively working in the field as career practitioners and follow the Standards and Guidelines of the Canadian Career Development Foundation.  For a definition of members, please check the outline description in the National Occupational Classification Index (NOC 4213)

Associate Member (Annual Fee $50)
Members in this category include those who do not meet the Member criteria and will be screened on an individual basis.  Associate Members have all the rights and privileges except the right to hold a seat or to vote on matters pertaining to the association.  An Associate member may hold a seat on the committee if deemed appropriate by the executive. 

Student Member (Annual Fee $25)
Full-time students who are studying at a recognized institution may apply for student membership.  They may be studying any course at either the undergraduate or post-graduate level.  All student applicants will be required to demonstrate interest in the field of career counselling.  Student applications will be screened on an individual basis. 
  
Ex-patriot/Sponsor Member (Annual Fee $35)
Subscription memberships for those individuals/organizations who reside outside the province and who work in/or have an interest in the field of Career Practices will be granted with the sole purpose of securing physical or electronic access to all publications of the Association.
